Crocs
Color Palette
PROCESS: Color was researched seasonally through travel, trade shows, and trend subscription services. Key colors were identified and palettes were created for sales segmentation and product tiers.
One of the essential elements of the design process each season is the developing new colors. Crocs’ footwear is predominantly made from their patented Croslite - a lightweight squishy EVA foam making each shoe irresistibly comfortable. Each new color requires a complex chemical formula and is UV tested and qualified. Another important Crocs’ material is TPU. I partnered with development to test color and established a system for quality control. Discs were created with varying opacities, textures, and treatments setting TPU standards and new treatments such as glitter, tortoise shell, and ombre helped broaden the product offering.

The Huarache program was one of the most successful launches for women. TPU uppers were highlighted in neon hues, a fun trend-appropriate statement.
Prints, Materials, and Finishes
DESIGN: The process of graphic and finish exploration begins with travel and research leading to the creation of trend board collages and a seasonal theme. This storytelling is key and serves as cohesive design inspiration across all genders and categories.
This seasonal design theme was Real and Surreal - a striking juxtaposition of two distinct, trend-relevant color palettes and graphic directions to account for the wide array of product across all categories. One color palette servers our more conservative product and customer while the other is perfect for Crocs’ iconic vibrant molded footwear.
Crocs is taking your family into the wild this fall season! Graphics, color, finishes, custom yarn-dyes, and material selections are inspired by this rustic and cozy theme for product refreshes.
